KLIPS 2.0 is the central campus management system of the University of Cologne. You’ll use it to:

• Register for courses and exams
• Create your personal schedule
• View grades and academic achievements
• Download official documents (e.g. certificate of enrollment)

To help you get started, here’s a step-by-step guide:

Logging In

Go to KLIPS 2.0 and log in using your S-Mail account (student email) and the password provided by the university.

If you're having trouble with your login details or didn’t receive your S-Mail credentials, contact the University IT Support Center (RRZK).

Course Registration

When?
Course registration takes place during the semester break for the following semester. Dates are published on the KLIPS homepage.

How?

• Click “My Studies” → “Study Planner with Module Plan”
• Select your degree program and module
• Choose the seminar or lecture you want and submit a course request

Prioritizing Courses:
You can set preferences under “My Course Requests” (look for the little list icon). After the allocation phase ends, you’ll see which courses you were placed into.

Didn't get a spot? No worries — there are usually multiple registration phases where you can try again.

Other Functions

View Your Timetable
Under “My Calendar”, you’ll see your weekly schedule with all registered courses and exams.

Check Grades & Exam Status

• Upcoming exams → “Examination Dates”

• Completed courses and grades → “My Achievements”

   

Download Certificates
Need your transcript or proof of enrollment? 

Go to “My Documents” → “Certificates”

KLIPS does not contain slides, readings or assignments. These will be uploaded separately on ILIAS – the university’s learning platform.
